Launching the Blog
This is my first post in my first blog. Very exciting for a 64 year old who has recently finished a 30 year career in real estate apprasial and management and has now launched an entrely new venture in dog massage. Why dog massage you might ask. Well, I love dogs, live on a small "farm" of sorts surrounded by a number of species including horses, cats, chickens, ducks and of course, dogs. Dogs have changed my life since my wife convinced me 25 years ago that we should get a dog. Our daughter was 10 at the time and that single act has probably had more impact on myself and our family than any other. It led to so many wonderful and surprising adventures and it opened my heart and my understanding in a way I could not have imagined at that time. So for this next phase of my life and perhaps the rest of my life, I would like to make dogs even more of a focal point in my life and also provide a hopefully useful and healing service to both the dogs and their owners.

Dad, this is great! You should share a little about your story and how you got here. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteWhat I care about the most is the quality of relationships in many ways - between humans, humans and animals and really with all of life. I think it is through engagment in relationships that we have a chance to learn about about ourselves, about life and really be of service. My choice of animal massage fits (in my mind) right into this.
ReplyDeleteMy prior life, starting way back in the 60s has been somewhat eclectic including an on-going spiritual search, teaching in high school, becoming a lawyer, working as a business owner and then as a corporate executive for many years. I have had an abiding interest in music and have played a number of instruments. Somehow, the choice of dog massage seems a way to integrate and put my many interests and skills in a new format with animals that I love.
